Virtual Reality Excitement At Cannes Lions

As SenseVirtual continues to explore Virtual Reality at home in Africa, it was wonderful to see how well Virtual Reality campaigns were received at the Cannes Lions awards last week.

Henry Cowling, president of the digital craft jury at Cannes said: “this is the year that virtual reality has really come of age at Cannes.”

Here are a few of the Virtual Reality award highlights from this year at Cannes.

Björk’s Real-Time Virtual Reality Music Video won the Digital Craft Grand Prix.

Tilt Brush, Google’s Virtual Reality art creation tool, won a gold and silver Lion.

Tilt Brush is one of the most successful Virtual Reality experiences that we at SenseVirtual use at events and activations. People absolutely love using Tilt Brush to create their own unique artworks inside Virtual Reality.

The Samsung Gear VR has reached mainstream adoption and this new Samsung Gear VR short film won three gold, two silver and two bronze awards. The three gold awards were awarded under the film craft category for best direction, animation, and visual effects.

Feel free to let us know if your business has any ideas on how to explore this exciting new technology.
